A guide to brushing your teeth

Our guidelines - brushing your teeth

Brush your teeth twice daily with a small, soft toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste.

Brush in the morning and at night, just before bedtime. The fluoride in the toothpaste will stay on your teeth at night and help strengthen them.

Use a “dot” of toothpaste, the size of a pea, on the toothbrush.

Toothbrush and paste

Brush your teeth for two minutes.

After brushing "spit, don’t rinse"

Don’t share your toothbrush with anyone else.
